Vande Velde Nineth on Stage #17 of the Tour de France!

Keeping Team Garmin-Chipotle’s podium dreams in tact, Christian Vande Velde once again put in an brilliant performance on today’s epic three-climb stage. He remained with the race leaders over the Galibier, the Col de la Croix de Fer and up Alpe d’Huez. On the final climb up Alpe d’Huez, Christian kept his cool despite the constant attacks and counters from the group of contenders trying to limit - or increase - their time gaps before Saturday’s decisive individual time trial.
Christian finished 9th on the stage and held on to 6th overall 4′41″ behind Sastre.
